, this position is responsible for the preparation and service of hot and cold food items in accordance with

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, measure, and portion all food items in a
timely and accurate
manner
Follow all
quality, safety, and sanitation standards
Set up and operate kitchen equipment properly
Package food products to specification
Perform
opening, closing, and side work duties
as assigned
Maintain a
clean, organized, and stocked
workstation
Adhere to
waste control guidelines
and log spoilage
Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed based on event requirements
Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Enrollment or completion of a culinary program is an asset
6 months to 1 year
of kitchen or foodservice experience preferred
Valid
Food Handler's Certification
required
Strong
communication
and
teamwork
skills
Able to work efficiently in a
fast-paced, team-oriented
environment
English proficiency required
,
French proficiency an asset
Availability
This is a
casual, part-time
position with shifts scheduled
evenings, weekends, and holidays
, based on the
Avenir Centre's event calendar

Physical Demands / Working Conditions
To perform the duties of this position, you must be able to:
Use manual dexterity for chopping, mixing, blending, etc.
Lift and carry up to
50 lbs
Operate dangerous kitchen equipment safely
Stand and walk for the
entire shift
Reach overhead, bend, twist, squat, push, and pull as needed
Work in a
hot, noisy, and damp
environment
Frequently come in contact with
sharp tools, hot liquids, and hot surfaces
Frequently immerse hands in water
