Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Food preparation & cooking:

Prepare ingredients (chopping, marinating, measuring spices), cook menu items (curries, breads, tandoor items, rice dishes, etc.), following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.

Station setup:

Getting your station ready at the start of shift, restocking as needed.

Maintaining quality:

Ensuring food safety & sanitation standards are followed (cleaning, cross-contamination, proper temperature control).

Speed & timing:

Working efficiently to meet customer orders, especially during busy times.

Clean-up and maintenance:

Cleaning work areas, washing/sterilizing tools, managing inventory of ingredients/spices, keeping the kitchen organized.
Skills & Requirements

Experience:

Often some prior experience in a kitchen, especially with Indian (kerala) cuisine or cuisines involving heavy spice use is a plus.

Knowledge of spices & ingredients:

Familiarity with Indian spices, using them correctly in dishes, flavor balancing.

Food safety training / certifications:

Depending on local regulations, might need food handler's certificate or equivalent.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
