Duties
Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and accurately
Cook a variety of dishes with attention to detail, presentation, and quality standards, including fine dining cuisine when applicable
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines
Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Assist with catering orders and special event setups to ensure timely delivery of quality meals
Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste
Serve dishes in a professional manner, supporting the front-of-house team during busy service periods when needed
Follow all kitchen safety procedures, including knife skills and proper handling of kitchen equipment
Experience
Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly desirable, especially in fine dining or catering settings
Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices
Knowledge of dietary department standards or dietary aide experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs
Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are essential for success in this role
Experience with menu planning or working within a food industry setting will be advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
