Job Description

Elmhurst Inn & Spa is seeking an experienced, professional Cook to join our culinary team. We never compromise on quality. Backgrounds in fine dining and high-volume banquet kitchens are strong assets, and skills in butchery, classic sauces, and seafood will set you apart.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items to recipe, plating, and quality standards. Execute mise en place; set up and stock stations with ingredients and equipment. Work efficiently to meet service times while maintaining portioning and consistency. Follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures (HACCP). Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations. Assist with prep (chopping, cutting, marinating) and occasional banquets as needed. Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service and excellent guest experiences.
Qualifications

Proven experience as a line or prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen (fine dining or hotel an asset). Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and culinary terminology; comfort with stocks, sauces, seafood, and basic butchery. Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistency under pressure. Team-oriented with clear communication and time-management skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Food Handler Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire).
