Job Summary
Reporting to the Branch Manager, provides circulation services, including cash handling.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs materials handling routines such as emptying the drop box, packing and unpacking boxes, sorting onto trucks, retrieving materials, AV problems, periodicals, processing, labels and repairs.
Performs routines related to holds.
Answers directional questions or redirects customers appropriately.
Provides basic readers\' assistance as required.
Provides telephone assistance to customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Secondary school graduation.
Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.
Effective written and oral skills in English are essential.
Demonstrated keyboarding ability.
Familiarity with Symphony, Windows and Word would be an asset.
Some lifting is involved.
SUNDAY WORK MAY BE REQUIRED.
