Library Assistant Position
Job Title: Library Assistant \xe2\x80\x93 Summer Student (8-week term)
Job Classification: Library Assistant II
Job Summary: Working under the direct supervision of the Head Librarian:
- Assist with programming activities
- Assist in providing tours of the library
- Assist at the circulation desk
- Other duties as required and assigned
Requirements: - Excellent reading skills
- Excellent keyboarding/typing skills
- Good rapport with diverse groups
- Able to work evening and weekend shifts
- Comfortable working with children
- Current Vulnerable Sector criminal record check
Preferences: Prior library work experience
Hours: 37.5 hours/week including evening and weekend shifts as part of a staff i rotation
Start date: As soon as possible
Wage: $16.30/hour per CUPE Local #3077 Collective Agreement
