Position SummaryLG 206 - Local Government AccountingCourse Description:An examination of the history, purposes and principles of local government accounting, budgeting, audits, assessment and taxation. Emphasis is placed on Urban and Rural Municipalities and School Division accounting. * Prerequisite: BUS 285 or LG 204 or 024. * * Note: Formerly numbered LG 025. Students may receive credit for only one of LG 025 or 206. *Position RequirementsCandidates should have a Masters degree in a relevant area, as well as experience in municipal government in Saskatchewan or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong background in accounting, preferably in a municipal setting. Candidates are responsible for ensuring course material and curriculum meets University academic requirements as well as current municipal sector needs in Saskatchewan. Candidates should have good understanding of post-secondary academic standards and have strong communication and analytic skills to provide clear and effective written feedback for students on assignments and exams. Familiarity with online development and teaching in a post-secondary environment preferred.Physical Demands
