Position SummaryLG 201 (formerly LG 208AA) Local Government Management PracticesCourse Description:This course provides students with an overview of the skills necessary to become an effective manager in local government today. Topics include an introduction to public sector management, effective leadership, and the fundamental functions of local government. Students will learn the knowledge and skills to manage a small to medium size municipality in Saskatchewan. *Prerequisite: LG 200*Position RequirementsCandidates should have a Masters degree in a relevant area, as well as experience in municipal government in Saskatchewan or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are responsible for ensuring course material and curriculum meets University academic requirements as well as current municipal sector needs in Saskatchewan. Candidates should have good understanding of post-secondary academic standards and have strong communication and analytic skills to provide clear and effective written feedback for students on assignments and exams. Familiarity with online development and teaching in a post-secondary environment preferred.
