We are seeking to add a full-time experienced
Legal Administrative Assistant
to support our
Conveyancing
team in our Prince George office. Our staff are crucial to the success of our Firm and we are looking for someone who is not only a team player but possesses superior organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle a high volume of work with tight deadlines and a keen attention to detail.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administering clients' files including file opening (conflict searches, client identifications and other tasks), scanning documents, filing (primarily electronically), billing and file closings
Preparation of documentation relating to transactions
Conducting BC Online searches
Filing documents in Land Title Office
Managing closings of purchase and sale transactions
Communicating with vendors, purchasers, financial institutions, clients, lawyers, brokers and others as required in a timely fashion
Liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, and lawyers on file progress
Completing payouts and preparing internal documents relating to trust transactions / trust account documentation
Preparing reporting letters and ensuring key closings dates and tasks are diarized
Completing any other administrative duties as requested / required
QUALIFICATIONS
Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of BC Online and myLTSA
Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to exercise good judgement, professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality
Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain strong working relationships by working collaboratively in a team setting
Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and independently manage files
