Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal administrative support within commercial litigation group;
- Draft / prepare / format correspondence and various legal documents (pleadings, notice of motion, facta, etc.);
- Compile records and briefs;
- Scheduling appointments, court dates, examinations for discovery, mediations; and
- Communicating effectively with clients;
- Manage deadlines and bring-forward system for lawyers;
- Schedule appointments and court dates and manage calendars for lawyers;
- Manage incoming calls, mail, faxes and e-mail and respond as appropriate and follow-up on correspondence;
- Open/ close / maintain legal files; and - Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Commercial Litigation experience;
- Solid understanding of litigation rules, procedures, and legal terminology;
- Strong dicta typing, client service, and client billing skills;
- Proficiency with MS Word, ACL, and CaseLines;
- Able to independently exercise good judgment, discretion, and problem-solving abilities;
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills; and
- Professional, proactive, and positive attitude.);
