Job Summary



We are looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Lead PCP Instructor to join our Primary Care Paramedic program in Revelstoke. This is a part-time role, with responsibility for supporting the in-person phase of training for an upcoming class. This phase takes place Monday - Friday, every other week, over 6 months from February 2026 through July 2026.

Our approach utilizes a pool of instructors and subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver the more technical aspects of training, hence the Lead Instructor is not required to be an expert in all aspects of paramedicine, nor are they required to attend 100% of the in-class training. Instead, the successful candidate must bring a passion for both teaching and paramedicine, strong communication skills and a commitment to ensuring our students succeed. The Lead Instructor would be expected to attend at least 2-3 days each "in-class" week (ie. every other week), to provide support and consistency for the class as other instructors rotate through. There is minimal to no work required outside of the in-class days, allowing the Lead Instructor to easily balance other work and social commitments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



Deliver classroom instruction (vast majority of the role) Provide written and verbal feedback to students; documenting student progress as required Schedule classroom instructors from an approved list provided by the Academy Orient and mentor new instructors as required Ensure proper care and management of equipment and classroom supplies; ensure equipment is prepared and ready for class use, request additional supplies as needed Participate and assist with implementation of Learning Plans for students facing challenges

Skills and Qualifications



Demonstrated ability to multitask, and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally, courteously and in a clear manner Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in preparing student records Hold an EMALB Primary Care Paramedic license, or equivalent Knowledge of EMALB processes and protocols and familiarity with BCEHS operations is an asset, but not required Successful completion of an ISW Network instructing workshop is an asset, but not required

Compensation and Benefits



This part-time (avg. 40 hours/every other week), salaried position offers a set rate of $47.00/hour. In addition we offer 10 paid sick leave days annually (which can be used for yourself or to care for immediate family members), flexible scheduling practices that include unpaid leave as required for other commitments (ex. monthly BCEHS shifts, attending training/conferences for personal growth, etc.).

The successful candidate will also be able to submit availability for additional instructing shifts throughout the province, should they so desire.
