Columbia Paramedic Academy is British Columbia's largest paramedic training institution, offering both Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) programs. Our management team and staff embrace progressive approaches to learning in order to provide an engaging and fulfilling educational experience for our students.
Headquartered at permanent campus locations in Langley and Victoria, we also deliver our programs throughout the province by rotating through a large number of previously underserved communities, including recent ACP courses in Prince George, Kelowna and Kamloops.
Columbia Paramedic Academy is part of Columbia Learning Group, a leader in paramedic and first aid training & curriculum development. Our sister companies, Heartsafe EMS and Columbia Medical Training offer first aid and first responder courses.
Job Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Lead Instructor to join our Advanced Care Paramedic program. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and paramedicine, strong communication skills and a desire to support students to be successful. This role is responsible for a single cohort - the Langley class starting in November, 2025.
Reporting to the Manager, Paramedic Programs, the Lead Instructor serves as the primary day-to-day support person for their students and is responsible for scheduling staff and facilitating in-person workshops. The Lead Instructor is not required to be an expert in all areas of paramedicine as courses frequently utilize other experienced instructors and subject matter experts (SMEs) to lead delivery of the more technical aspects of this training. The ACP program is a challenging one, and the Academy takes pride in finding administrative staff, instructors and managers who allow themselves to celebrate our students' successes and feel personally motivated to help when students struggle.
If you are someone with a passion for both teaching and paramedicine, and who wishes to positively mentor and train new paramedics in a supportive learning environment, this is the role for you.
The Lead ACP Instructor - Langley will join an existing team of instructors and program support staff, including the Lead ACP Instructor for the ongoing 2024 Langley cohort who will be able to share their knowledge and familiarity with the curriculum, program, and role itself.
