Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic
Web Developer & Lead Instructor
with expertise in
robotics, coding, advanced mathematics, and web development
. The ideal candidate will have both strong technical skills and the ability to teach, mentor, and lead students and staff. This is a unique role that combines hands-on web development with teaching leadership, making it perfect for a versatile and passionate educator-technologist.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Leadership:
Lead engaging STEM and robotics classes for students of varying ages and skill levels.
Teach and mentor students in coding, robotics (Lego WeDo, VEX GO, EV3, and similar platforms), and problem-solving strategies.
Train and support other instructors, providing guidance in teaching methods and classroom management.
Curriculum Development:
Design and refine lesson plans that integrate coding, robotics, and math concepts.
Develop hands-on projects that challenge students' creativity and technical abilities.
Technical & Web Development:
Build, manage, and maintain organizational websites using
WordPress
or other related platforms.
Optimize websites for functionality, user experience, and accessibility.
Collaborate with the team to integrate digital tools that enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with
robotics platforms
: Lego WeDo, VEX GO, EV3, and similar.
Excellent
coding skills
(e.g., Python, JavaScript, Scratch, or similar).
Advanced
mathematical knowledge
with the ability to apply concepts in teaching and problem-solving.
Great knowledge in
WordPress
Proven
leadership and teaching experience
, especially in STEM or robotics education.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Must hold a
valid Ontario G-class Driver's License
and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Passion for inspiring and engaging students in STEM.
Assets (Preferred):
Prior experience leading STEM/robotics clubs, hackathons, or competitions.
Familiarity with additional programming languages or robotics platforms.
Graphic design or UI/UX experience to enhance student-facing platforms.
