Schedule:

Monday-Thursday (4-Day Week, 9:30 AM-4:30 PM)

Salary:

$32,000-$34,000 + Uncapped Bonuses

About KOLA



KOLA is an inclusive, academically rigorous outdoor academy serving Grades 1-12. We teach real academics -- math, science, literacy -- through hands-on, place-based learning. Our cohorts are small (max 16 students 1:8 ratio), attuned, and deeply relational.

We are looking for a

grounded, emotionally regulated

Lead Educator to launch our Kelowna cohort. This is a leadership role.

Full academic binders provided, along with resources.

10-Month Schedule:

Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks

Real Outdoor Teaching:

Inquiry-based math, science, ecology, physics

Small Cohorts:

16 students max

Professional Development:

Opportunity to pursue RBT training, trauma-informed practice, and wilderness certifications (supported by KOLA)

Family-Friendly Pilot Perk:

Your school-age child may join you on site during the pilot phase. Full enrolment takes priority once the cohort fills.

Compensation & Partnership

Base Salary:

$34,000-$36,000/year (guaranteed monthly salary)

Builder's Bonus (Uncapped):

10% commission on tuition for each student you recruit who enrolls full-time Example:Recruiting 5 students could earn you an additional $4,000-$5,000+ No cap -- fill the cohort, share the revenue

Profit Share:

5% of Net Site Profit once the cohort is full.

Responsibilities



Cohort size: up to 16 students. A secondary educator joins the team at 8 students so the learning environment stays calm, relational, and manageable. Deliver our curriculum in outdoor settings, with some indoor partners. Maintain safety: risk assessment, wildlife awareness, tool safety Support emotional regulation and group dynamics Model calm, grounded leadership Build relationships with families and the broader community

Who You Are



Preferred Background:


A post-secondary degree and interest in/active pursuit of educator training (e.g., B.Ed). Must bring a grounded, confident, steady leadership style.

Calm, grounded, emotionally attuned Comfortable teaching in all weather (rain, snow, heat) Interested in growing professionally: RBT training, trauma-informed practice, or wilderness certifications A builder -- excited to help shape a new academy
