We are currently recruiting for a Casual LATS Operator.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Accessible Transit Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe transport, from door-to-door, of seniors and individuals with physical and/or cognitive disabilities, within the City of Leduc. Operators work in all types of weather and road conditions. This job is physically demanding, and operators are routinely required to lift up to 25 kilograms.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operation of a LATS vehicle, transporting clients in a safe and responsible manner
  • Maintain contact with supervisor and Dispatch via radio and cell phone as required during shift
  • Maintain fare products for sale to clients, and accurate accounting of sales
  • Maintain work records, prepare reports, etc.
  • Pre and post-trip inspections, cleaning and fueling of vehicles
  • Reporting of any mechanical issues to the supervisor and Fleet Services
  • Maintain certifications and attend training as required
Qualifications:
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Standard First Aid certificate
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta vehicle operator's license; non-probationary with no more than 3 demerits
  • Formal training/experience in defensive driving and/or public relations
  • Excellent customer service and public relations experience
  • Experience in working with individuals with physical and/or cognitive delays
  • The successful candidate must be willing to provide a current criminal record check including, vulnerable sector, and a current driver's abstract as part of the recruitment process
