Key
Responsibilities:
prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help
meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress
volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities
attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions.
Integrate faith-based teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities.
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons aligned with Alberta Education curriculum and FMCSD's educational philosophy.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning, social-emotional development, and spiritual growth.
Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student development.
Integrate faith-based teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure student success and a cohesive school environment.
Maintain accurate student records and adhere to all school and division policies and procedures.
Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree; a specialization in Early Childhood Education is preferred
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for one.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
Flexible and adaptable
Commitment to diversity equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
Organized and able to meet deadlines in accordance with the school schedule
Commitment to education and excited to work with students each day
The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD will contact past and present employers for references. All FMCSD employees are expected to be computer literate; this includes fluency with e-mail, Internet and MS Office.
