Based in Toronto, the Junior Treasury Analyst will report to the Vice President, Treasury & Capital Markets. As a member of the Treasury and Capital Markets group, the successful candidate will play an integral part in the day-to-day cash management, back office tasks, coordination, and administration of the team. The Junior Treasury Analyst will support other members of the Treasury group, work directly with various groups within QuadReal and liaise with external parties. A strong attention to detail and the ability to organize, prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced environment is required. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with daily cash management activities including general cash management, short-term forecasting, short-term investments, and commercial paper issuance;
  • Assist with transaction confirmation, settlement, and record-keeping;
  • Assist with bank administration and onboarding activities including opening/closing of bank accounts, analyzing bank fees and balances and coordinating know-your-client and anti-money laundering requirements;
  • Assist with maintaining intercompany debt, interest schedules, and repayments between various entities;
  • Issuance, ongoing maintenance and forecasting of letters of credit;
  • Maintain records for debt guarantees and related invoicing;
  • Maintain the quarterly debt dashboard and weekly market spread reports;
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end external disclosures for financial reporting purposes;
  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external presentations including quarterly reports to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors, as well as credit rating agency, investor, and lender presentations;
  • Assist in reporting for QuadReal’s sustainable finance program including annual green bond and sustainability-linked loans;
  • Perform quarterly attestation procedures supporting debt compliance and various due diligence processes;
  • Assist with various asset-level financing including CMHC mortgages and construction financing;
  • Assist with internal and external event planning activities including lunch-and-learn sessions, team events, bond marketing, etc.;
  • Provide administrative support to team members including coordination of internal and external meetings/conference calls/visitor logistics, processing invoices and wire payments, preparation of expense reports, and coordination of travel arrangements for the team;
  • Other duties within the scope of the job, as required.

Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1- 2 years of experience in a Finance or Treasury environment
  • Post-secondary education
  • Ability to effectively partner and liaise with all levels of the business and develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with internal staff and external contacts
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong work ethic, ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple demands, competing priorities and adapt to new ideas and change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in team and individual contributor settings
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to communicate to internal teams and external stakeholders clearly and concisely;
  • Initiative-taker with the ability to independently plan, execute and complete projects and anticipate next steps. Someone who takes initiative to get results and has a strong desire to learn and contribute to the team
  • Prior experience with Yardi and/or Workday is an asset
