Job Description

Software Application and Version:

  • Qualified CPA with 2-4 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably from a Big Four Accounting Firm
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and its application. Understanding of U.S. GAAP is an asset, but not required
  • Self-starter that can work proactively
  • Great attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial data
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is an asset, but not required.
  • Previous complex consolidation experience (non-controlling interest calculation, equity accounting for joint venture and proportional consolidation, rate regulated accounting, consolidation in multiple currencies)
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, biological assets, and inventory is an asset
  • Experience working or auditing in a SOX/ICFR environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Competent problem solver who is resourceful and analytical with strong organizational abilities and embraces challenges

  • Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will get to play a key role on a small team, working closely with individuals throughout the organization.
  • The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of quarter-end close, consolidated financial reporting & analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and building out the finance function of new subsidiaries acquired in the U.S. cannabis space.
  • They will also be involved in financial planning and analysis, treasury, M&A structuring, and capital markets activities.
  • The ideal candidate has a flexible and dynamic mindset, with a strong knowledge of IFRS, and experience dealing with accounting issues on various topics, complex consolidations, foreign currency translations, and business combinations.
  • This individual will thrive under continually changing needs and will gracefully manage challenging situations, with a clear ability to take ownership of projects and focus on results.
