We're a very small team, so we're looking to add a member of staff that is flexible with their scheduling.Junior Sous ChefREPORTS TO:Chef/ Sous Chef/GMREPORTS TO YOU:SupervisorsPrep CooksLine CooksDishwashersPosition Summary: As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for maintaining, delivering and building upon existing brand standards for our culinary program. With your previous restaurant or Club experience, eye for consistency and attention to small details, you will help us to deliver picture perfect plates every time. If you like to cook, create and motivate teams to perform to their full potential, this role is for you! You are the ambassador of food quality, food safety and maintaining a safe and clean working environment for our teams and our guests.Duties and Responsibilities:Must Be an exceptional Hotline Cook for Steaks,Seafood and Game meats for A La Carte and Banquet Service.

  • Implement, lead and inspire team development at all levels
  • Supervises line staff to consistently deliver brand standards
  • Ensure daily operations function efficiently as possible to maximize a positive dining experience for guests always balanced with a strong return to the company
  • Monthly food inventory with Optimum Control
  • Ensure health and safety compliance in our kitchen
  • Motivate teams to enhance retention and yield high job satisfaction
  • Oversee culinary program in an effort to provide high quality ingredients and recipes that align with current market trends
  • Where appropriate, follow up and successfully resolve all guest complaints and ensure root cause is identified and corrected
  • Building a talent rich team, interviewing, hiring and establishing a 'promote from within culture' to enhance retention
  • Recipe creation for feature items, daily specials and LTO's
  • Foster a culture of recognition and reward focused on the achievement of financial metrics, food quality and performance
Education/Qualification:
  • University or College designation in Hospitality or Culinary Management and/or Red Seal Certification an asset
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (word, excel)
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading teams in a commercial kitchen
  • Able to demonstrate strong culinary skills, recipe development and team development
  • Subject matter expert on HACCP, WHIMS, Human Rights and ESA regulations in your Province
