The Role
We are seeking a skilled
Junior Project Manager
to support and take responsibility for delivering complex, large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will assist in planning and executing multi-million-dollar developments, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and support the coordination of project teams. You will play an active role in upholding and advancing Vasto's project delivery standards while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and sustainability across all projects.
This position is ideal for an experienced construction professional who is ready to take on increased responsibility, contribute to strategic decision-making, and support projects from early planning through to final completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and permitting to completion and final handover.
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and delivery strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Administer contracts, oversee procurement, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors.
Apply sustainable construction practices, including mass timber, modular construction, and energy-efficient solutions.
Utilize BIM and other project management tools to coordinate consultants, site personnel, and key stakeholders.
Maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact throughout each project.
Supervise and mentor junior project managers, site superintendents, and cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all sites.
Report regularly to senior leadership on project progress, key risks, and financial performance.
About You
Experience
: 10+ years as a Local Construction Project Manager in construction, including experience leading multi-family residential, commercial, or institutional projects.
Technical Skills
: Proficiency with BIM, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost-control software.
Leadership
: Proven ability to lead large teams, resolve conflicts, and mentor emerging talent.
Knowledge
: Strong understanding of construction methods, permitting processes, and sustainable building practices.
Education
: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field. Professional certifications (PMP, P.Eng., or Gold Seal) are considered assets.
