Junior Project Manager

About the Role
The
Junior Project Manager
will work closely with the Management, Site Supervisors, and subtrades to coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities on multiple home building projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in project coordination, scheduling, and construction management.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Site Support
Assist with managing construction projects from pre-construction through to occupancy and closing.
Coordinate with trades, suppliers, and site staff to ensure schedules and quality standards are met.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality control.
Track and manage deficiencies and warranty items.
Book and coordinate all required
city and municipal inspections
for each stage of construction.
Request and coordinate
utility service connections
(hydro, gas, water, etc.) for new builds.
Perform minor physical construction related tasks if needed
Documentation & Administration
Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation including schedules, budgets, and change orders.
Support with procurement, purchase orders, and builder management software (e.g., Buildertrend).
Provide general administrative support to the project management and construction teams.
Blueprints & Permitting
Assist with reviewing architectural and structural blueprints to ensure design accuracy and compliance with municipal and building code requirements.
Coordinate with designers, engineers, and consultants to prepare complete drawing sets for submission.
Prepare and submit building permit applications, ensuring all required documents and approvals are in order.
Communicate with municipal building departments to track permit progress, respond to comments, and obtain approvals.
Maintain organized records of permit documents, revisions, and approvals for each project.
Provide general administrative support to the project management and construction teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Project Management or related field.
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential construction or a related role.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Buildertrend).
Understanding of risk management principles.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Buildertrend or similar project management software is an asset.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
