Job Description

JOEL Theatrical Rigging, Canada's leading theatrical rigging supplier, is looking for a Junior Project Manager to join their expanding division based in Mississauga, Ontario. If you are hardworking, reliable and willing to learn, we would like to hear from you!

The Junior Project Manager is a key member of the JOEL team, reporting to the Project Manager and working with the JOEL team and contractors to ensure smooth delivery and installation of various projects. Responsibilities include: site visits, correspondence with internal team/contractors/new clientele, project budgeting, and defining the most appropriate work methods according to the nature of the project.

Schedule and Hourly Rate



The Junior Project Manager is employed full-time for a guaranteed minimum of 40 work hours/week. Overtime hours are worked as required to meet delivery deadlines. Salary is dependent upon experience. Nationwide travel is required for this position. Travel is dependent upon the order/duration of project and travel time is fully compensated.

Working at heights and on site with a variety of mechanical equipment

Familiar working in a metal fabrication environment

Proven communication skills across work teams and clientele

Key Responsibilities



Ensure project coordination by creating detailed budgets and timelines

Define the most appropriate approaches/working methods based on context

Visit construction sites to collect information (notes, photos, sketches, equipment etc.)

Consult with management/contractors and pass on correct information to the internal team

Follow up with site manager and communicate with internal/external teams to track progress

Assume leadership and responsibility for projects

Research and find the necessary technical information when required

Propose solutions, solve operational problems, and develop them with the internal team

Manage time efficiently and effectively to ensure deadlines are met

Requirements/Qualifications



Able to work well independently, and as part of a team

Able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings to execute projects correctly

Strong time-management skills and managing different projects simultaneously

Self-starter: proven initiative to work efficiently, seek out new tasks, and solve problems

Able to communicate well in written and spoken English

Ontario Driver's License(G Class required)

Theatre experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Project Management: 3 years (Preferred)

Education: DCS / DEC (Preferred)
