We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Paralegal to join our growing practice. This role is well-suited to someone looking to develop their skills in a hands-on legal environment and take on increasing responsibility over time. The successful candidate will work closely with our lawyers and staff, supporting both substantive file work and the day-to-day functioning of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist with preparing and filing Residential Tenancy Branch materials, including applications, evidence packages, and written submissions. Support court filings and procedural steps in Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia matters, with guidance and training provided. Organize and maintain client files, ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and properly tracked. Draft routine correspondence and legal documents under lawyer supervision. Communicate with clients, opposing parties, and registries in a professional and organized manner. Track deadlines, hearing dates, and follow-up tasks across active files. Assist with improving internal templates, checklists, and processes as familiarity with the practice grows. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:



Education or training as a paralegal or legal assistant is an asset, but not strictly required. Previous experience in a legal, administrative, or professional office environment is an asset. Familiarity with tenancy law or the BC Residential Tenancy Branch is an asset, but training will be provided. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take direction, ask questions, and work independently as confidence develops. Comfort using Microsoft Office and learning new systems and procedures.
