Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for projects, enabling effective budgeting and resource allocation. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of construction processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in industry-standard estimating software and possess a keen eye for detail.

Duties

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals. Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient estimating processes. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines as part of the estimating process. Maintain organized records of all estimates, revisions, and related documentation.

Experience

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is preferred. Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid is highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work is crucial. A background in construction or engineering is a plus.
