Job Description

BMF is looking for a Jr CNC Programmer / CAD Designer. This role involves programming SCM and AXYZ CNC routers using Mastercam, assisting with SolidWorks design tasks, and supporting prototype development and assembly documentation. Job Requirements

Program CNC router operations using Mastercam for SCM and AXYZ machines

Generate and optimize toolpaths for melamine and acrylic sheet materials (nesting, drilling, pocketing, profiling)

Import and prepare CAD files (DXF, STEP, SolidWorks) for machining

Assist with 3D modeling and drafting in SolidWorks for new designs and prototypes

Help create and document assembly drawings and step-by-step instructions.

Collaborate closely with CAD designers and production staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Participate in prototype setup and testing on the shop floor when required.

Maintain and update Mastercam post-processors, setup sheets, and job documentation.

Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise

Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs

Qualifications

+ years of experience in CNC programming (router-based preferred)

Working knowledge of Mastercam (required)

Working knowledge of SolidWorks (required)

Experience with SCM and/or AXYZ CNC routers (asset)

Familiarity with machining melamine and acrylic materials

Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and nesting strategies

Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Must have strong attention to detail
