The Junior Analyst position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in finance and data analysis. This role supports the Finance team by managing inventory and accounting data, ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and generating insightful reports that inform business decisions.
You will be involved in inventory reconciliation, master data management, and continuous improvement of reporting and data processes across departments. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
The Junior Analyst is responsible for exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism, while building relationships and working closely with key roles throughout all levels of the company.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain and update accurate inventory and accounting records
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through regular quality checks and validation procedures.
Assist in identifying and resolving data discrepancies or process inefficiencies.
Analyze inventory and accounting data to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, and ad hoc reports to support departmental needs.
Prepare value-added analysis and reporting to support operating companies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and supply planning, to gather and validate product information, specifications, pricing, and other relevant data.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory and reporting.
Support a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting practical updates to reporting tools or workflow processes.
Support special projects or tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary education in a related field
Previous experience in inventory, finance and accounting functions
Demonstrated knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills,
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is an asset.
Knowledge of ERP platforms like Eagle and financial systems such as Sage 300 is a plus
Superior problem-solving ability
Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task,
Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude.
