Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Oversee food handling and preparation processes to maintain high standards of quality and safety. Collaborate with team members to create innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and operational procedures. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Help manage kitchen schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak service times.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team. Proficient in food handling, preparation, and presentation techniques. Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a busy kitchen environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when needed. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by restaurant operations. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
