Job Summary

Corma Industries is a modern contract machine shop in southeast Calgary, Alberta. We specialize in prototyping and small-to-medium volume production runs for a variety of clients in diverse industries.

We are currently looking for a self-motivated, results-driven and resourceful full-time Journeyman Machinist with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in a jobbing shop environment.

Duties include:

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables; Convert design drawings into accurate, high-quality metal components; Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job; Researching and selecting cutting tools that improve efficiency; Programming, setting up and operating CNC milling centres, CNC and manual lathes; Running first-offs and probing to ensure accuracy; Monitoring output to ensure consistency with specifications; Documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances, completing and maintaining inspection records; Knowledge of FANUC Controls and GIBBS software an asset.
Experience:

The candidate will hold a Red Seal Journeyman Machinist Certificate or be at least a strong 3rd year plus machinist with equivalent experience. Possess a minimum of 3-5 years' experience, in a jobbing shop setting; Expert knowledge of and ability to use quality inspection tools; Ability to program and set up job; Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines is essential; Ability to think on your feet to troubleshoot problems; Experience with Fanuc Controls, Solid Works and GIBBS is an asset; Passion for continuous learning and advancement; Possess a positive, "can-do" attitude with willingness to work quickly and efficiently; Must be able to communicate at an advanced level in English, both written and verbal.

Pay: $33.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
