ATCO is hiring! Reporting to the Operations Manager, the purpose of the Journeyman Millwright is to provide technical expertise for plant mechanical equipment and support facility maintenance programs and projects. The individual will drive continuous improvement through collaboration with other departments, including Operations, Engineering, and Construction. This role will interact with internal and external parties at all levels and is expected to consistently apply exceptional interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills in their day-to-day work.

Travel to various field locations will be required.

What you will do:

  • Maintenance and reliability of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps and compressors, throughout the equipment life cycle
  • Perform and ensure all preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment are completed.
  • Fabricate and oversee the fabrication of parts as required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
  • Assemble and manage the assembly of machinery prior to installation.
  • Perform start-up, testing, and shutdown operations of equipment.
  • Champion the MOC process and contribute to executing field-level MOCs
  • Develop and maintain all required mechanical equipment procedures and processes.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the project life cycle.
  • Assist in the execution of capital and maintenance projects.
  • Assist in the oversight of contractors performing work on mechanical equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • Alberta or Inter-provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas or energy
  • Industrial mechanical experience, preferably working with Sulzer pumps and natural gas compression.
  • Experience with Maximo maintenance management system is an asset.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting engineered drawings, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • A comprehensive understanding of all safety and regulatory requirements
  • Strong operational background with a varied base of technical knowledge
  • Able to work well in both a team and independently
  • Comfortable using electronic devices for
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including working: around process equipment, at heights, outdoors in typical Alberta weather extremes, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift heavy loads of up to 50lbs
