Position Details:

This position is a combination of two roles within our Diversified Employment Solutions division, resulting in a full-time position: Job Coach and Career Information Officer.

Job Coach: The role of the Job Coach is to help clients develop their knowledge and skills in job search and, as a result, improve their chances of finding and keeping paid employment as well as help them become independent in achieving their career goals. The goal is to provide job search services to clients referred by the Department of Social Development or Working NB. The Job Coach will guide and assist clients with their job search goals: interviewing clients to obtain their employment history, education and career goal; Helping clients develop job readiness skills and job search strategies; Collect information for clients regarding job postings and requirements and skills; Teach clients how to write an abstract and cover letter as well as how to prepare for an interview.

Career Information Officer: The role of the Career Information Officers is to assist in the comprehensive search for job openings and to provide technical assistance and information to the general public and clients referred by WorkingNB. The goal is to provide resources to clients about job search and explore training and career options; manage and maintain job leads and the Career Information Centre; provide resume writing services; providing information on federal/provincial employment programs and services; Assist clients in using job banks and resources to access job postings; Contribute to the publication and maintenance of the Career Information Centre's social media pages and provide services and resources to employers looking to fill vacancies.

Education required:

u Bachelor's degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Education, or Counselling and one year of counselling-related work experience for a total combination of 5 years OR

u Post-secondary diploma/certificate in related disciplines of social sciences, education or counselling and three years of counselling-related work experience for a total of 5 years

Additional Requirements:

• Bilingual (in both New Brunswick official languages)
