Job Description

Founded in 1988 Value Added Systems is a privately owned company specializing in the Design, Supply and Support of Information Technology systems. VAS offers IT management, systems consulting, and other services associated with information systems and networks, including system management and monitoring.

The position that is available is for a Senior Technical Support Engineer providing onsite support for an industrial company in the Hamilton/Burlington region. As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Providing support for our customer's day to day activities. Install and maintain servers at the various customer sites Work with the corporate network operations group with day to day work and supporting corporate projects. Daily review of customer's help tickets Applying software and hardware based patches Onsite auditing/consulting of systems and processes Work as a team member to provide a consolidated technical knowledge base for problem solving Responsible for the backup strategy office wide, including ongoing maintenance and Disaster Planning. Maintain up-to-date documentation on reports or inventory
Qualifications

Required Skills (critical):

VPN site to site configuration and troubleshooting VPN client configuration, IPSEC and SSL VPN Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network resources Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other networks Three or more years of experience as a System Administratorof a Windows Active Directory environment Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Exchange/Office 365 or a like Enterprise class messaging system Microsoft Azure Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (English) Personable - customer satisfaction is critical. Must have a valid driver's license, car and be bondable
NOTE: The successful candidate will have to be able to have a logical and analytical approach to problem solving. We are not looking for another "google" technician who relies on the internet for his problem resolutions.

SQL Server - Replication and/or Maintenance Tasks Linux Installation and Administration
Educational Qualification:

College, University accreditation or associate's with equivalent work experience required

Pay: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
