It Technician

Job Description


The IT technician will have to provide support to users at both the software and hardware levels. He/She will ensure the sustainability of the software and hardware used by the productions and services of the Montreal studio and will also upgrade the various computer systems.Responsibilities:

  • Administer, support and troubleshoot studio hardware (computers, printers, monitors, etc.), software and network operating systems;
  • Create and manage users, computer accounts and their access to network resources in \xe2\x80\x9cActive Directory\xe2\x80\x9d;
  • Deploy operating systems and software packages remotely using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (formerly SCCM) tools;
  • Install PC hardware components such as graphics cards, RAM, SSDs and hard drives as part of the PC deployment process;
  • Ensure the application of security best practices for workstations (e.g. disk encryption, deployment of updates, etc.)
  • Configure and support multimedia equipment in conference rooms equipped with videoconferencing systems
  • Maintain a current and accurate inventory of hardware, software and technology resources;
  • Support teams during moves and various events (training, marketing, etc.)
  • Interact with external vendors regarding hardware repair
  • Update the knowledge base with newly diagnosed issues and configuration procedures
  • Carry out all other related tasks such as receiving & sending packages, supporting the organization of events, maintaining inventory and purchasing general supplies
QualificationsRelevant experience :
  • 2+ years of experience in technical user support
  • Be bilingual orally and written (French and English)
  • In-depth technical experience with PCs, laptops and tablets.

Knowledge :
  • Knowledge of an automated deployment system; MEM/SCCM, AD, OSD, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 - 11 and the Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Knowledge of support software and remote access systems
  • Knowledge of working with different types of network equipment (switches, routers, network configurations)
  • Knowledge of creative software (Adobe Suite, Autodesk products, Visual Studio, etc.) (asset)
  • Knowledge of Mac and Linux operating systems (asset)
  • Knowledge of multimedia equipment (asset)
  • Knowledge of game consoles and mobile hardware (asset) Training: DEP, AEC DEC in Computer Science
