IT Operations Manager

Palliser Furniture requires an IT Operations Manager to join their IT Department. The Operations Manager will report to the Director of IT and will manage IT operations related to application platforms, online solutions, desktop/laptops, servers, printers and review utilization of these resources while evaluating upgrades and alternative solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader and will perform strategic planning, present proposals and work closely with our Business Solutions Manager to enhance team performance, improve customer satisfaction and meet the dynamic needs of the organization.

Duties include

  • Work to fulfill Palliser\xe2\x80\x99s IT Strategic Plan to support enterprise goals & objectives.
  • Assist with preparation of annual IT Budget. Present to managers, execs or board members for approval.
  • Prepare and review invoices for accounts payable to process.
  • Evaluate special business needs, research prospective solutions and make recommendations based upon findings.
  • Provide leadership to manage vendor relationships, solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and arrange installation and configuration of IT systems. Implement controls to ensure these systems are maintained.
  • Coordinate projects with business solutions manager. Develop & deliver proposals, plans, presentations & progress reports. Work with department managers & IT staff to understand full project scope for successful project management & implementation.
  • Develop Incident Response & Disaster Recovery plans. Test integrity of these plans.
  • Prepare & maintain audit materials & regulatory compliance documentation. Collaborate with auditors, meet with examiners and implement controls as needed.
  • Supervise activities of IT staff. Prepare formal performance evaluations and recommend salary adjustments. Counsel staff and coordinate training as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to assist with system administration, access privileges, end-user training & support, maintenance contracts, licensing agreements, invoicing & inventory management.
  • Maintain awareness of changing trends or regulations that require prompt action. Supplement knowledge of current technology and future advances thru utilization of vendor support and user groups, attendance of educational seminars and courses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent education/experience in IT preferred
  • 2+ years practical experience & demonstrated proficiency with computer & technology systems, application platforms, online solutions, configuration, administration & maintenance.
  • Strong people leader
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, managing projects, budgets.
  • Advanced knowledge of workstations, peripheral devices, phone systems, office equipment and portable electronic devices
  • Working knowledge of IT services and ERP systems preferred
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, high attention to details, and solid organizational skills
  • Self-disciplined with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
