It Operations Manager

Job Description

Our firm is seeking an experienced professional with an IT background to fill the position of IT Operations Manager in our Toronto office. The role will be primarily in-office, with some requirements to visit client locations ( for meetings and hands-on tasks as needed) and the occasional allowance for remote work. The typical working hours are from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday with some occasional requirements to monitor technicians in the evenings and weekends. Responsibilities will consist of: -coordinating and dispatching technicians for jobs and projects across Canada (break fix in data center storage equipment, enterprise server rooms, desktop and wifi support, misc equipment, cabling, cameras etc.) -supporting technicians remotely in completing the above -completing timely reports for each job -defining scopes of work for projects and communicating them -hiring and coaching technicians -defining customer requirements and participation in business development processes (quotes, site inspections etc) -attending client and site meetings -occasionally completing service calls yourself when escalation or staff shortages require it -warehouse and store organization and management -reporting to the CEO -duties as assigned Given the above you should have multi-year experience: -providing technical support and installation services both in the field and remotely -leading teams of technicians and installers -working with predominantly corporate customers with IT infrastructure of varying degrees of sophistication -full-cycle client management from: sales, onboarding, maintenance, new facility setup, upgrade projects, add/move/change, and decommissioning -large and small project management -warehouse processes (material handling) as well light manufacturing/assembly and inventory management Our firm deals predominantly with IT infrastructure (hardware), as such there is definitely a hands on, practical and effective culture - analytic and to the point, decisive and action oriented. Compensation will be a salary in the range of $60,000 to $80,000 in the first year, with the potential for increase and/or performance bonus in the 2nd and subsequent years.
