We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced IT Manager to bring their expertise to our organization.Organization Background: Holland Christian Homes Inc., is a dynamic, innovative organization that provides a full continuum of care to individuals in a Christian atmosphere. It consists of two long term care homes and 6 assisted living/independent living apartment towers located in Brampton.We believe that individuals requiring our services have the right to a lifestyle that adequately meets their physical psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs. These services are provided by fully qualified professional staff who deliver care using a holistic approach to provide quality care and quality of life to individuals.Position Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the IT Manager will be the first point of contact for all HCH staff and clients regarding issues with IT assets, enterprise systems, and distribution systems. The primary objective of the position is to provide technical and administrative leadership and expertise in provision of both central and end-user support and services and will assist in education of staff on new systems and technologies.Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide first level support with technology products or applications.
  • Create and maintain support tickets in accordance with support requests.
  • Maintain and update IT assets and peripherals as directed.
  • Ensure smooth delivery of HCH internet, cable and phone services to new clients.
  • Train/guide users on applications/ tools as directed.
  • Hire and retain staff, facilitate training and development, provide guidance and coaching, complete performance evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot computer and peripheral equipment issues.
  • Ensure all servers and clients are patched have antivirus updated on daily or monthly basis.
  • Ensure all servers, and clients where appropriate, have backups.
  • Perform annual server and client refresh.
  • Ensure all storage facilities are updated and redundant.
  • Contingency planning to ensure business continuity in the case of failures.
  • Set up and monitor preventive maintenance procedures as directed.
  • Assist with HCH internal broadcast system.
  • Manages relationships and contacts with vendors, contractors, agencies, government and representative organizations, professional services organizations and other types of suppliers to the organization.
  • Develops operating plan and budget to operate the department and its resources.
  • Establish and create a positive team environment through leadership and mentoring. Work with staff members to develop an individualized professional development path with clear goals and objectives.
  • Establish and meet goals set with Executives and Senior Management.
  • Provide the proper supervision, work environment and structure to assure performance and well- being of employees. Provide clear channels of communication, delegation and accountability within the team for effective problem solving.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education, diploma in IT, engineering program or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years prior technical/help desk experience.
  • Supervisory or Managerial experience preferred.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of redundant virtualization and migration in and out of virtual server and services environments.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of virtualized networking environments, border control devices and gateways, protection services and devices.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of advanced networking structures.
  • Areas of expertise should include: Windows server and desktop management including standards, provisioning, application, active directory, DNS, web, antivirus, backup and hardware support, central infrastructure support including networking, server and software virtualization, border gateway protection and management, work from home and mobility, central and desktop software support including CRM, MS 365, Office, Internet based tooling and applications, custom databases using MS and open source tooling, custom and off-the-shelf medical support and records software.
  • Audio and Video services including IPTV, telephony and auditorium broadcast services.
  • VoIP or telecommunications experience is an asset.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills; able to assess and re-evaluate during troubleshooting process.
  • Ability to multi-task and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong human resources skills to craft and develop skills in a small team to manage the operation.
  • Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to sufficiently explain intricate technologies and systems to non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to understand and/or speak the Dutch language is an asset.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Evidence of a negative TB Test and up to date immunizations.
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination.
