Join our team
The TELUS Investor Relations team is a high-performing and dynamic team that provides a vital link between TELUS and external stakeholders, including investors and analysts, on financial and operational matters. We are a trusted advisor to TELUS\xe2\x80\x99 senior leaders, regularly partnering with a wide range of our leadership team and are important contributors on internal communications.
We build and foster strong external relationships with investment analysts and investors through our excellence in public disclosure, and by demonstrating a high level of integrity and responsiveness through regular interactions. We are a trusted partner and advisor to senior leaders at TELUS, with the aim to proactively keep them apprised of investor-related developments and topics of interest, as well as developments related to our industry and peers. We facilitate regular management interactions with the investment community through regular participation at conferences and other investor events.

Your strong ability to proactively and strategically assess situations, exercise excellent judgment, take initiative and assume ownership of what needs to be done under minimal supervision, alongside your strong ability to prioritize in a dynamic and high-profile environment with unalterable timelines, will make you the ideal addition to our team. You will leverage your developed relationship skills, aptitude for collaboration and continuous learning, and mature business acumen to build and foster strong relationships at various levels within TELUS and the investment community.
You will utilize and expand your highly advanced analytical capabilities, and excellent writing skills, to research and write executive-level briefing documents for the CEO, CFO, a variety of other senior leaders, and for external inquiries and disclosures. Your interaction with members of the investment community and senior leaders will be backed by strong written and verbal communication skills, expertise as a strategic thinker and advanced capacity to listen, discern and synthesize observations from those interactions and a variety of other sources.
Your demonstrated financial aptitude, practiced sense of judgment and communication skills will guide your support of interaction with the investment community, including an ability to travel as appropriate to attend investor conferences and meetings with senior management. Your abilities in this regard will enable you to make a significant contribution in the preparation of a range of public financial disclosure documents and, more broadly, to TELUS\xe2\x80\x99 excellence in public disclosure and investor relations practices.
This role will report to the Head of Investor Relations.

Here\'s how



  • Manage and support the relationships between senior TELUS leaders and key members of the investment community, including analysts and investors
  • Manage the planning of senior leaders participation in conferences, road shows, investor days and other investor-focused events; prepare related briefing documents; attend and participate in these events, as well as writing summary and feedback reports
  • Lead efforts to leverage TELUS\xe2\x80\x99 leadership in ESG and social capitalism with the investment community, and enhanced regular interaction with ESG-oriented investors; plan, organize and project managing ESG investor events and other ESG sessions and regular meetings, managing close collaboration with a range of internal and external partners
  • Write investor-focused news releases, executive scripts, and messaging documents; contribute to writing and review of annual disclosure documents
  • Support the preparation of executive briefings on competitor quarterly earnings and other competitive developments
  • Monitor and analyze regular sell-side analyst reports and broader financial market activity; support regular shareholder monitoring and analysis in collaboration with external advisors and investor engagement; coordinate and write related executive communications, including Board related materials
  • Assist internal and external communications, including working closely with executive communications, media and government relations
  • Develop IR plans and prepare investor-focused messaging for strategic developments
  • Provide strategic IR support to our high-growth health and agriculture businesses, to continue elevating these businesses with the investment community



Qualifications



You\'re the missing piece of the puzzle
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of capital markets, financial disclosure and accounting practices; awareness of ESG investor considerations, familiarity with ESG reporting and various ESG reporting standards; and ability to very effectively communicate equity and debt market sentiment and activity
  • Proven excellent financial aptitude, with refined research and analytical skills, and excellent writing/verbal skills and high level of attention to detail/accuracy, backed by highly developed capacity to listen, discern and synthesize observations from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn key aspects of a company and industry, and identify and gain knowledge of aspects of critical importance to the company, senior management, and the investment community
  • Recognized as a highly proactive and self-motivated individual, with ability to operate well under minimal supervision, including effectively working remotely, and in situations characterized by ambiguity, uncertainty or lack of clarity; willing to independently assess situations, take initiative and assume ownership of what needs to be done
  • Proven ability to self-manage, prioritize and focus on what matters most, plan, organize, project manage, while operating in a high-profile, highly dynamic environment with evolving priorities that require a flexible mindset
  • Valued as a rounded strategic thinker with mature business acumen, and an excellent sense of judgment, with ability to operate in a high-pressure environment with unalterable deadlines
  • Recognized as a trusted team member whose high-quality work consistently hits deadlines, and a strong collaborator who can support multiple key tasks and willingness to raise their hand to take on more responsibilities as needed
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, high attention to accuracy and detail, a level of comfort with executive communications, and ability to collaborate, build and maintain relationships and a high level of trust with a myriad of various internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel and work long hours into the evenings or weekends on projects with unalterable deadlines, when needed
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Great-to-haves
  • Experience of two years or more working in a key IR role at large TSX-listed or advisory company, or in a related capital market roles
  • IPO experience preparing a company to go public, executing the complex IPO process, and post IPO activities including setting up an Investor Relations Plan and building a collaborative team to execute it
  • CFA and/or CPA, other financial designation, or graduate degree
  • Familiarity with or experience in the telecommunications or technology sectors
  • Familiarity with FactSet, Nasdaq IR Insight and Bloomberg platforms
  • Proficiency in French
