As the
Inventory and Receiving Supervisor
you will:
Ensure all receiving, storage, and inventory activities comply with CFIA, BRC, HACCP, TDG, GMP, and all applicable provincial and federal regulations.
Receive, inspect, label, store, and rotate inventory according to cost center standards, FIFO, and HACCP requirements.
Assign bin locations, stage materials based on production needs, and maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory systems.
Schedule and conduct cycle counts; perform inventory adjustments and bi-weekly counts for packaging and plant supplies.
Verify product accuracy against purchase orders and coordinate returns, credits, and discrepancies as required.
Communicate inventory issues with purchasing, sales, QA, and other stakeholders; coordinate with suppliers on delivery timelines.
Assist with loading and unloading of materials and maintain organized, compliant storage areas.
Prepare reports related to audits, inspections, and corrective actions; participate in internal and external audits.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing and enhancing processes, SOPs, and training records.
Maintain strong customer relations by ensuring timely and accurate service.
Supervise, train, and manage staff, including onboarding, performance management, scheduling, time and attendance approval, and disciplinary matters in accordance with the collective agreement.
Establish team goals, provide coaching and feedback, and promote a safe, compliant, and high-performance work environment.
Monitor departmental budgets and address variances to meet financial targets.
Promote and comply with all health, safety, environmental, food safety, quality, and legal requirements; investigate deviations, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Attend departmental, operational, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement meetings as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
3+ years of experience, with leadership exposure.
Knowledge of food/meat plant regulations and safety standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Analytical, with problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in MS Office and basic math skills.
Post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience.
Certifications: Transportation Dangerous Goods, Forklift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions (cold, hot, humid).
Flexibility for overtime, travel, and presentations.
