The Opportunity: WSP in Canada is currently seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Internal Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications Team. Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, the HSE Internal Communications Specialist works in close collaboration with the HSE team, taking day-to-day direction from a Senior Leader in HSE. This person will strive to engage and inform employees through innovative and outcome-focused communication strategies supporting HSE. The HSE Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and dissemination of information in both official languages for all HSE activities and operations. All activities are undertaken to ensure that employees at WSP in Canada have access to important HSE information. Planning and Strategy
Build constructive and efficient relationships with stakeholders to effectively advise on HSE internal communications and develop, implement and evaluate effective strategies, campaigns and plans based on best practices.
Support the implementation of HSE communications plans and strategies in alignment with the Communications Team\xe2\x80\x99s plans and strategies.
Build HSE internal communication strategies to effectively mitigate risks and challenges associated with change initiatives.
Communication:
In alignment with the Canadian Communications strategy, support an agile, proactive and personalized HSE internal communication approach to better meet the needs of our employees:
By developing and implementing innovative HSE internal communications strategies to ensure consistent and effective communications with employees and managers.
By creating HSE content that is focused on the needs of different audiences and designed to generate change.
Develop key HSE messaging considering the target audience, communication channels, and timing to maximize impact.
Develop HSE informative materials and provide sessions to help employees adapt to new processes or technologies.
Assist the HSE leadership team in the development of presentations and key messaging to drive improved HSE identity in the organization.
Organize HSE initiatives and events Assist HSE senior leadership in communication and ensure alignment with Global HSE leadership vision and mission.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring to WSP:
Minimum 5 years\' experience in a similar role. Proven experience in communications.
University Degree/College Diploma in communication or in a related field, combined with an in-depth experience in communication.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bilingualism is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in implementing internal HSE communications strategies in a changing environment.
Experience in working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the company and in influencing senior leaders.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Previous HSE experience an asset.
Experience in the Energy, Mining or Oil and Gas sectors is a strong asset.
