The Automotive and Industrial Group at Shawcor with DSG -Canusa and Shawflex brands is a leading global manufacturer of heat shrinkable tubing, electrical cable, cable accessories and related equipment. The student will be responsible in improving production processes by reducing variation, enhancing equipment range and output capabilities, reducing scrap, as well as supporting continuous improvement efforts through root cause problem solving and other lean principles and techniques.

Working as a resource for the process improvement team to:

  • Design and implement new production processes learning extrusion and expansion technology
  • Understand and develop standard operating procedures working with plant personnel
  • Design and implement new production processes reducing cost & improving efficiencies
  • Address HSE and quality compliance
  • Support continuous improvement activities
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports to document process capabilities for customers
  • Create and update engineering drawings and tooling inventories
  • Design, prototype and integrate novel solutions to solve production issues and support process improvement activities
  • Lead process 5s and organizational activities
Qualifications:
  • Completed 2nd or 3rd year of Electrical/Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills, forward thinking
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Fast learner & ability to both lead and work within a team
  • Self-Starter willing to take on a \xe2\x80\x9chands-on\xe2\x80\x9d approach
  • Organized and task oriented, able to balance multiple challenges flexibly
  • Positive attitude, goal driven, team player
