About the Role:
Corus Entertainment and so.da, the media company\xe2\x80\x99s award-winning full-service agency, are looking for three superstar interns with a passion for entertainment and Canadian programming to join the publicity teams for the Winter 2024 term. We are looking to hire three (3) interns to support the Publicity and so.da teams.

Publicity Interns (Three positions available): Two (2) successful candidates for the Corus Publicity team will be reporting to the Publicist for one of two entertainment streams, Global Television or Specialty and one (1) successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of PR for so.da, supporting on a variety of client-facing work.

Internships for the Winter 2024 term begin Monday, January 8 and endFriday, April 5.

Please note the successful candidates will receive an honorarium upon successful completion of the internship.

You will contribute by:

  • Media monitoring for multiple priority brands and clients
  • Entering publicity results into MRP for key publicity campaigns
  • Working with the publicity team to generate and maximize positive publicity for network programming
  • Collect and organize visual asset material (artwork, video clips, etc.)
  • Basic writing assignments including monthly highlights, episode descriptions, talent bios, etc.
  • Assisting in the organization of media events
  • Assemble press kits, media releases and corporate kits and help coordinate internal and external distribution
  • Conduct media research and assist with media relations as well as media database updates
  • Coordinate administrative needs including filing, maintaining image and programming materials
Skills and Experience you will bring:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program in public relations or communications
  • Available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET with occasional weekend and evening work as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
  • Above average computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work remotely with the ability to work in the office/at events on a case-by-case basis
  • Interest in and knowledge of the Canadian broadcast and entertainment industries\xe2\x80\x99 trends and developments
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop is an asset
