Intern, Marketing & Communications (8 Week Term) ABOUT US Campfire Circle has offered healing through happiness for thousands of kids and families affected by childhood cancer since 1983. It\xe2\x80\x99s where kids can be kids, and families can be families\xe2\x80\x94engaging in camp-inspired community, in-hospital, and overnight camp programs, at no cost to them. Campfire Circle is seeking an Intern, Marketing & Communications to support our team this summer. The Intern, Marketing & Communications will provide assistance with social media, capturing photos and videos from summer programs, photo and video asset sorting, and supporting community and fundraising events. This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing & Communications Start Date: June 26, 2023 End Date: August 18, 2023 Rate: $17.00/hour Key Accountabilities: \xc2\xb7 Assist with social media management, including the creation and publishing of content and responding to public messages \xc2\xb7 Assist with the gathering of photo and video assets, supporting the Officer, Design, and the summer camp photographers \xc2\xb7 Support community and fundraising events, assisting with administrative/logistical tasks as needed \xc2\xb7 Assist with the organization of marketing/communications digital media assets ABOUT YOU In accordance with our mandate of creating a caring and safe environment for ill children and their families, we require attestation of childhood vaccinations, updated Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Screening, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 for all of our staff. Additionally, all of our staff are required to be currently eligible to work in Canada. QUALIFICATIONS Required Criteria: a) Enrollment in a marketing or communications post-secondary program b) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of staff, supporters and volunteers c) Has an interest in fundraising and the non-profit sector d) Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills e) Ability to remain calm in variety of situations f) A demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines and work under the pressure of time constraints g) Digital skills through exposure to various marketing software platforms including social media software. h) A proven ability to work independently with the flexibility to take on a wide variety of assigned duties and projects i) A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment j) Detail oriented with great organizational skills k) Demonstrated professional, judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters l) Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Advantageous Criteria: a) Photography, video creation and editing skillset b) Education in Marketing, Communications, or Design field a) Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism or volunteer sector. Particular Working Conditions: a) This role will work in a hybrid environment, with 2-3 days per week working in person. This may include working in office, or working at camp site. b) In consideration of the population Campfire Circle serves, the incumbent is a non-smoker. c) This position may support the occasional Campfire Circle event, which can occur on evenings and/or weekends. d) This position may require travel to the camp sites as needed.
