Opportunity

Are you looking to grow your technical skills and troubleshooting abilities in IT services? If so, Millennium Insurance is looking to add a talented Intern, IT Helpdesk to their growing Business Systems Team!

Reporting to the IT Systems Administrator, the Intern will be responsible for front line technical support and troubleshooting for end-users.

What you will be doing

• Assists in triaging of incoming requests in ticketing system, including documenting of support requests and resolutions

• Responsible for set-up of new hire equipment, desk moves, and recovery of assets upon departure

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and peripherals

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections

• Assist with managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights

• Collaborate with the IT team to identify and resolve technical issues promptly

• Assist in the development and maintenance of helpdesk knowledge base and user guides

• Provide user training and guidance on technology-related topics

• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in helpdesk support

What you bring to the team

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software and operating systems

• Experience with Office 365 administration and support is an asset

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions

• High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Customer-oriented approach with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service

How you will succeed

In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to appropriately assess and triage service requests. The successful incumbent will also have built up foundational knowledge of the different business lines and be able to offer recommendations on tools to support different areas of the business.
