The Opportunity
We are seeking an
Intermediate/Senior Building Design Technologist
(ArchitecturalTechnologist) to join our growing studio. In this role, you will lead or support the delivery of complex custom home projects, oversee documentation quality, guide clients through design decisions, and coordinate directly with builders and consultants. Depending on your experience level, you may also mentor junior staff and help shape best practices within our team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead or support the development of presentation drawings and construction-ready documents for residential projects
Apply advanced knowledge of the BC Building Code to ensure compliance across all designs
Collaborate directly with clients through meetings and communications, guiding them through revisions and decisions
Coordinate design input with builders, engineers, and consultants to ensure buildable, cost-aligned solutions
Review work produced by junior technologists and provide technical guidance as needed
Stay current with design software, industry standards, and emerging trends to bring innovation into the studio
What We're Looking For
Minimum 5 years of experience in Canadian residential design and drafting
Diploma in Building Technology (or equivalent) from a Canadian institution
Strong proficiency in BIM software (ArchiCAD preferred, Revit acceptable)
Thorough understanding and application of the BC Building Code
Demonstrated experience producing and coordinating construction documentation
Excellent communication skills with clients, builders, and consultants
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and contribute to team success
Leadership or mentorship experience is an asset for those applying at the senior level
