Position purpose:

Reporting to Pr. Isabelle Marcoux, the primary responsibility of the incumbent will be to ensure the execution of the basic investigative tasks of the research project(s) and contributing to the ongoing management, progress evaluation, and information dissemination relating to the project(s).

The position is part of a pan-Canadian study of end-of-life medical practices among Canadian physicians. It is nearing completion and is at the stage of data analysis (skills in multivariate quantitative data analysis using SPSS are required), knowledge transfer activities (writing articles, presenting results to various audiences) and preparation of the research report for submission to CIHR.

This is a full-time contract at 35 hours per week until March 31, 2024.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Perform statistical analyses ranging from descriptive and correlative analyses to multivariate analyses using computer software.

Processes, organizes and summarizes data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet or statistical software applications (SPSS) or program platforms.

Assists with the preparation, writing, translation (English and French), of key documents including ethics applications, project reports, manuscripts for publication, abstracts, scientific posters and presentations by providing technical content in support of such documents.

Develops, implements and maintains physical and electronic filing systems, especially for data management.

Assists in the organization and implementation of research dissemination events including conferences, seminars and workshops.

What you will bring:

Undergraduate degree related discipline; graduate degree is an asset.

One to two (1 \xe2\x80\x93 2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in research positions.

Familiarity with qualitative research methodologies and their applications.

Familiarity with quantitative research methods, statistics and their applications.

Experience with literature searches and retrievals using electronic database.

Intermediate computer skills and experience using MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access).

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, to work under pressure, to effectively manage overlapping duties and to meet deadlines.

Ability to attend to detail and display resourcefulness.

Strong organizational, time management, coordination and facilitation skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

Advanced written and verbal skills in English or French. Bilingualism, spoken and written, is preferred.

Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written).
