Bookkeeper

to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company under the supervision of our experienced fractional CFO. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting or finance career who wants to be part of a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities



Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice creation and payment tracking Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly Record journal entries, accruals, and payroll transactions
Reporting & Support

Assist the CFO with preparation of monthly management reports and variance analyses Support budgeting and forecasting processes by maintaining accurate data inputs Help organize and categorize transactions for external accountants and auditors
Governance & Compliance

Maintain organized digital files for all financial documentation Support preparation of materials for quarterly board meetings Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and government filing requirements
Administrative Support

Coordinate vendor setup and maintain supplier information Liaise with departments and external partners for finance-related inquiries Assist with reimbursement requests and employee expense tracking

Qualifications



Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field 1-3 years of bookkeeping or financial coordination experience Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean team environment Experience in a start-up, health-tech, or non-profit environment is an asset

Location Requirement:



The person must be located in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)

In person meetings:



There will be in-person meetings in the Halifax area with the executive team multiple times per month.

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
