As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Architect for our Ottawa office. The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of relevant experience and an interest in large-scale projects for public and institutional clients, as well as multi-residential developments and heritage conservation projects. Our Ottawa office works closely with our Montreal team on major mandates, including Block 2, while also managing smaller-scale projects that shape the daily life of the city.
In this context, we are looking to welcome an experienced Intermediate Architect to strengthen our presence in Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a Project Manager or Associate, the Intermediate Architect:
Participates in the design and development of a variety of projects:
o Large federal public projects (e.g., institutional complexes, complex redevelopments)
o Multi-residential projects
o Interventions on heritage or historically significant buildings
Produces and coordinates drawings and specifications at all stages (concept, schematic design, design
development, permits, construction documents)
Alternates between independently managing small projects (coordination, client follow-up, deliverables) and
contributing to major team projects (Block 2 and other large-scale mandates)
Conducts regular site visits, coordinates with contractors, and prepares site reports
Ensures coordination with engineers and other professionals, as well as compliance with codes, standards, and
specific requirements of public clients
Plays a mentoring role for junior colleagues in the Ottawa office
Contributes to the quality of deliverables, best BIM practices, and maintaining high standards in design and
technical execution
Collaborates regularly with our teams in Montreal and Toronto
Your Profile
Member of the OAA
Resides in the Ottawa region, ideally within 100 km of downtown
6 to 10 years of professional experience in a similar role
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign
Knowledge of building codes, design of building envelopes (historic and contemporary), construction materials, and specifications
Strong technical knowledge of construction details
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites in the Ottawa region
Bilingual (French/English) is essential, as you will work with Ontario clients and our Montreal office
Willingness and eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (required for all federal
mandates)

Able to manage small projects (work organization, prioritization, client follow-up) while contributing effectively to large-scale team projects
Strong interest in:
o Public clients,their realities, constraints, and processes
o Heritage (rehabilitation, conservation, enhancement)
o Multi-residential projects
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior architects (plan reviews, constructive feedback)
Proficient in BIM software (ideally Revit) and solid understanding of technical details
Rigorous, autonomous, responsible, and exercises excellent professional judgment
