This is an interim position with a duration of approximately 18 months.

About the Job

The (Interim) Associate Product Marketing Manager position is a downstream marketing role that will work closely with the Marketing Services teams (Digital Ads, Website, Content, Social, Listings, Reputation and Client Engagement) to develop marketing collateral, sales training support, website content, product presentations, and other material in order to drive demand and adoption of our services. The Associate Product Marketing Manager will support the sales, customer success, support, and marketing teams and must have an in-depth knowledge of the business, in addition to the wider marketplace, and competitors.

As an Associate Product Marketing Manager for Marketing Services, you will be responsible for actively seeking to develop knowledge of products and how features can address customer pain points. You will also assist in the outbound marketing activities for Vendasta\'s in-house managed services (both internal and external) by helping craft the messaging, price and positioning for the division\'s services. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits are crucial skills. As an Associate Product Marketing Manager, you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy, and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel.

The impact you\'ll have

  • Launch coordination - Operate within the product release cycle with a focus on communications for partners and customers. With assistance, you will plan the launch of new products, release schedules and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan. This includes supporting Product Management and Marketing to develop product launch packages with product messaging, value proposition, objection handling, competitive analysis, sales guides, and other content.
  • Sales enablement - communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools and assets that support the selling process of your products. Gaining trust and confidence from the sales team is absolutely essential.
  • Understand the buyer - Have a grasp of the customer\'s buying process as it stands today and seek to understand the triggers for consumer buying behaviours. Work with Marketing Services & Distribution leadership to develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market.
  • Market expertise - gather competitive intelligence, market trends and new technologies to bring back to your teams in driving innovation; be the expert on your competition and how to win against them. Serve as a subject matter expert to address technical questions from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Content production - work with various teams to support new product and service introductions, marketing content, and sales training materials.
  • Drive adoption - develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand and adoption for your services.
The value you\'ll bring
  • 1-2 years of product marketing, product management, user experience and/or product specialist experience preferred
  • Previous work experience could include working at an agency that provides digital marketing apps & services to local businesses
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business/Marketing, or related discipline preferred
  • Pragmatic marketing, agile, or other product management training preferred
  • Experience in software or digital marketing preferred
  • Approachable and passionate problem-solver
  • Exhibits professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and execute quickly
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking with both qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities; applies agile product development philosophy
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team setting
  • Graphic design skills and knowledge of Photoshop would be an asset but are not required
