Job description Little Kitchen Academy is the first of its kind Montessori inspired cooking academy for students ages three through teen. We are focused on providing a safe, inspiring, and empowering space for children to identify, develop and refine their senses. Through joy, mindfulness, and learning we are creating a foundation for a healthy lifestyle through responsible eating choices from scratch to consumption. Little Kitchen Academy Edmonton Ellerslie is looking for Instructors who loves working with kids, execute on our core values every day, every class, every student (Health, Delight, Joy, Mindfulness, Learning, Empowerment, Inspiration). Instructors must be kind, caring, and patient and have a passion for living a healthy lifestyle Lead, Support and Environment Instructor positions available. Full-time/Part-time; Morning, afternoon, & evening availability. (15-40 hours per week) Lead Instructor Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Identifies the class list and notifies team of any dietary restrictions, special needs, or other notes. \xc2\xb7 Sets up Instructor trolley and special tools needed for today\xe2\x80\x99s recipe. \xc2\xb7 Positions at the front of the kitchen and shakes every student\xe2\x80\x99s hand, welcoming them into the kitchen. \xc2\xb7 Checks students in/out of the environment using the tablet to access Amilia. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for leading the work, reading the recipe, and time management. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrates the skill and encourages/fosters conversation around ingredients and equipment. \xc2\xb7 Engages with parents at the beginning and end of class but is not to be interrupted during the work cycle. \xc2\xb7 Clean and sanitize the environment. \xc2\xb7 Takes pictures and videos of the studentsto post on social media. Support Instructor Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Introduces themselves and assists students with putting on their chef coat and chef shoes. \xc2\xb7 Directs students to the hand washings station and shows each student how to wash their hands. \xc2\xb7 Asks the students to try to identify their name and invites them to their workstation. \xc2\xb7 Supports the Lead Instructor with the work cycle. \xc2\xb7 Walks around the workstations supporting the students. \xc2\xb7 Shows students how to clean up messes, breakage. \xc2\xb7 Helps the students identify where the ingredients are located. \xc2\xb7 Assists Environment Instructor with the collection of dirty small wares, appliances, dishes, etc. \xc2\xb7 Clean and sanitize the environment. \xc2\xb7 Takes pictures and videos of the students to post on social media. Environment Instructor Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Assist the Support Instructor with chef coats, chef shoes, and proper hand washing. \xc2\xb7 Ensure all ingredients are prepped for the day. \xc2\xb7 Supports younger students needing to use the washroom. \xc2\xb7 Answers the phone & the door when sessions running. \xc2\xb7 Receive packages and grocery deliveries-ensure accuracy of grocery order. \xc2\xb7 Flips, folds, and put away laundry. \xc2\xb7 Maintains cleanliness of back of the house. \xc2\xb7 Rinse dishes and run through dishwashing machine. Dry and put away. \xc2\xb7 Clean and sanitize the environment. Skills and Qualification \xc2\xb7 Experience in teaching Montessori philosophy of education is preferred \xc2\xb7 Early Learning Educator Degree, Nutritionist, Culinary Arts, Business Development Management or relevant 2-year degree preferred \xc2\xb7 Maintain effective communication and working relationships with children, parents and staff members \xc2\xb7 Motivation and willingness to learn. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work as a team \xc2\xb7 Proficiency in Google Workspace is an asset ( Docs, Sheets, Slides etc) \xc2\xb7 Creating brand experience on social media is desirable \xc2\xb7 First Aid, CPR, AED Training Certification (including for Adults & Children) \xc2\xb7 Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check \xc2\xb7 WHMIS Certification \xc2\xb7 Food Safety Certification \xc2\xb7 Proof of vaccination for the Covid-19 required WHAT A CLASS IS LIKE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZy9dw5ldZg&t=62s WHAT THE ENVIRONMENT IS LIKE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJwWIUrABBs&t=32s We thank all applicants, however only candidates under consideration will be contacted for an interview Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
