What you\'ll doThe School of Tourism Management is looking for a hotel professional with international experience to teach hotel operations, revenue management and sales to students within our Global Hospitality and Tourism Management Post- Baccalaureate Diploma program, as well as within our Bachelor of Tourism Management program. Courses will vary but areas of focus will be the management and operational requirements of running effective and efficient hotel properties, sales as a revenue management tool and the use of a systematic process designed to optimize revenue, and the foundations of the sales cycle, including personal selling techniques and communication strategies.This role is expected to be able to teach at all levels of our programs, from 1st year to 4th year, while engaging domestic and international students into the programs, content, and industry. In addition, regular faculty members are leaders within the department and are expected to be active in the development of curriculum, programs, and partnerships that enhance the brand and student experience.Course outlines and access to materials are provided but it is expected that the instructor will continue to build on existing course content to include topical and relevant resources, experiences, and examples. The instructor will also meet with faculty who teach complementary courses to ensure progression of student learning.
What you\'ll bringQualifications
Required:\xc2\xb7 Masters in Tourism Management, or related fields.\xc2\xb7 Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.Preferred:\xc2\xb7 PhD in related field.\xc2\xb7 Relevant adult education training and/or qualifications such as the Provincial Instructors Diploma Instructional Skills Workshops.Industry Experiences and CompetenciesRequired:\xc2\xb7 Applied experience and comprehensive knowledge of sales, revenue management and hotel operations.\xc2\xb7 The ability to engage students through a combination of theoretical content based and applied teaching methods.Preferred:\xc2\xb7 A record of teaching excellence at the post-secondary level.\xc2\xb7 Publication(s) on a relevant topic(s) or in related field(s).Posting Detail InformationInternal or External Position External
