JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of the injection moulding process including, but not limited to, set-up and change-over, machines and materials troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and workflow.
Work Schedule: Afternoons and or Nights.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all company safety procedures are followed and enforced.
Conduct safety pre-operational audit and reporting for crane.
Ensure injection moulding machines and connected automated systems are set to company parameters, quality standards, and meet all production goals
Set-up and changeover of machines/materials, read blueprints, and measure products with calipers and instant measuring devices
Troubleshoot injection moulding machines, materials and auxiliary equipment
Maintain injection processes to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. E.g., record moulding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimize the cycle times
Perform mould/insert change-over prep and installation according to work order specifications.
Operation of over-head crane to perform mould changes and maintenance of moulding machines. Ensuring proper load calculation processes are followed.
Corrective and preventative maintenance of machines, robotics and auxiliary, including minor tools and die repairs
Set-up, change-over and troubleshooting of ultra-sonics
Involved in Robotics set-up and trouble shooting
Material/Machine data processing and troubleshooting. This includes responding to machine alarms in a timely manner.
Follow and maintain Company Quality Control standards
Delegate moulding tasks as necessary with sound leadership
Creates a positive working environment and relationships among other moulding operators and technicians.
Work with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing Departments during concept, prototyping, and release of new products, to ensure moulded components, meet requirements, adjusting as required.
Daily down time and process revisions reporting.
Machine and auxiliary equipment maintenance reporting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school or equivalent
3-5 years' experience in plastic injection moulding or related environment
Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with the properties and behaviors of a variety of plastic materials
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Experienced crane rigging qualified in a warehouse setting
Ability to properly handle material, moulded products and related inventory control
Must have experience and knowledge of proper operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment
Experience and injection moulding processing and design prioritized.
